How paying works when you don’t have an international card

Most AI subscriptions assume a Visa or Mastercard that clears internationally. A large number of people in Pakistan do not have one, and the ones who do often find the charge declined anyway. That is not a small inconvenience at the edge of the market — for a student in Karachi it is the whole reason the product is unavailable, no matter what the price says.

RafayGen takes local payment and verifies it by hand. It is not elegant and it will not survive scale, but it works today:

        1. Pick a tier above and start the signup. You will be shown the account details to send to — NayaPay or a UBL bank transfer.
        2. Send the rupee amount shown for your tier. Use the reference the page gives you, or your account email, so the payment can be matched to you.
        3. Email the payment reference and your RafayGen account email to rafayraza91@gmail.com.
        4. Your tier is switched on after the transfer is confirmed — usually within a few hours during Pakistan Standard Time working hours.

There is no stored card and nothing auto-renews. When the month is up, the account drops back to free until you send another payment. Several people have told us they prefer that to a subscription they have to remember to cancel.

What the free tier really includes

Free is not a seven-day trial with a countdown. It is a permanent tier: chat with all six agents, in English, Urdu script or Roman Urdu, with conversation history if you sign up and ephemeral conversations if you would rather stay a guest. You can use it indefinitely without entering a card, because a free tier that expires is a demo, and a demo is not much use to someone deciding whether an assistant fits how they work.

What free does not include is the expensive parts: image and video generation run on GPU time we pay for, and document generation and the voice orb both cost real money per request. Those sit on the paid tiers, which is where the hardware bill actually gets paid.

        Which tier fits you

        • Free — you mainly want to ask questions, draft text, get explanations, and work in Urdu or Roman Urdu. Most students never need more than this.
        • Go ($15) — you want to talk to it rather than type, and you generate images regularly. This is the tier for people using it daily for coursework or content.
        • Plus ($50) — you need real files out the other end: presentations, documents, spreadsheets, video. This is the working tier for freelancers and small businesses who are producing deliverables, not just answers.
        • Extreme ($100) — highest limits, early access to features before they are announced, and direct support from the person who built the thing.

If you are unsure, start free and upgrade when you hit something you cannot do. Nothing is lost in the move — your history, your notes and your files carry over.

        Common questions

Do prices change with the exchange rate?

Tiers are priced in US dollars because the underlying model and GPU costs are billed in dollars. The rupee figure next to each tier is a convenience conversion and will drift; the dollar price is the one that holds.

        Is there a student discount?

The free tier is the student plan, and it is deliberately generous rather than crippled. If you are running something specific — a class, a lab, a university society — write to us and we will work it out rather than quote a rate card.

        Can I get a refund?

Yes, case by case, for unused tier time. There is no automated flow for it because there is no automated billing to reverse; email us and it gets handled by a person. The full wording is in the terms of service.

What happens to my data if I stop paying?

Nothing is deleted. The account returns to the free tier and your history stays where it is; you simply lose access to the paid features until you top up again. Deletion only happens when you ask for it — see the privacy policy.

Do you show ads to paying users?

The chat workspace carries no advertising on any tier, paid or free. Advertising appears only on public pages like this one. That split is written into the privacy policy and the terms so it is not just a promise on a marketing page.
